VFL Johnny Mills Celebration of Life Set For Jan. 15

A Celebration of Life for former Vol Johnny Mills will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Elizabethton High School in Elizabethton, Tenn.
Mills passed away on Dec.15, 2022 at the age of 77.
An outstanding wide receiver for the Vols from 1964-66, Mills was named All-SEC by the Associated Press in 1966. He currently ranks third in UT single-game receiving yards with 225 against Kentucky. He concluded his career with school single-game records for most passes caught (11 vs. Auburn in 1966), yards receiving (225 vs. Kentucky in 1966) and single-season records for catches (48) and receiving yards (725).
Mills also registered four 100-yard receiving games during his career.Â
Several former teammates, in addition to former Tennessee head coach Bill Battle will be in attendance at the Celebration of Life.
