XC Preview: Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite / Live in Lou Classic

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee cross country is back in action Friday and Saturday as the men and women split up and head to Notre Dame and Louisville for the final weekend of competition before the SEC Championships.
The men race on Friday, Sept. 30 in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite, while the women run Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Live in Lou Classic.
At the Notre Dame Invite, the men will run in the Men's Blue Division at 11:15 a.m. ET. In Louisville, the women are slated to compete in the Gold race at 10:15 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee ran in a dual meet against Florida State on Sept. 16 in Boone, North Carolina. Jacob Lewis paced the Vols and finished second overall in the 6-mile race at 29:12.03. For the Lady Vols, Rachel Sutliff led the pack at 22:09.96 and placed fourth overall in the 4-mile run.
THE LINEUP
Here is how the Vols and Lady Vols will lineup this weekend:
The Men: Yaseen Abdalla, Canaan Anderson, Riley Buchholz, Will Cronin, Conner Hawkins, Dylan Jacobs, Nate Kawalec, Jacob Lewis, Matthew McMillan, Eli Nahom, Karl Thiessen and Yordanos Zelinski.
The Women: Msgana Araya, Allison Buemi, Brooke Dixon, Kayla Gholar, Andie-Marie Jones, Erin Spreen, Rachel Sutliff, Audrey Thronson and Callie Tucker.
TENNESSEE DEBUTS
Several Vols will make their Tennessee debut Friday as Abdalla, Jacobs and Kawalec open up their 2022 cross-country seasons.

Tennessee will enter an extended training period as it prepares for the 2022 SEC Cross Country Championships. The championships will be hosted by Ole Miss and are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28 in Oxford, Mississippi.
