Volleyball Preview: Tennessee Opens SEC Play Against Missouri

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee volleyball opens SEC play Wednesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena as Missouri comes to Rocky Top for a 7 p.m. ET first serve.
For fans planning to attend, note that Tennessee's clear-bag policy will be in effect again this season.
TICKETING PROCEDURE
Starting this fall, tickets to all Tennessee Athletics events will be digital and can be accessed through a mobile device to improve security and reduce the risk of ticket fraud as well as make the process more convenient for fans.
Fans will gain admission into all venues via a unique QR code which will be scanned directly from a mobile device. For quick and easy entry into Tennessee Athletics venues, fans are encouraged to download the Tennessee Athletics app from the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android).
Digital tickets can be managed via a mobile device or desktop web browser, but a mobile device is required for venue access on matchdays.
Your mobile device is the ticket on gameday. All valid digital tickets will display a moving barcode or a hold near reader (tap-and-go) icon. PLEASE NOTE: SCREENSHOTS OF TICKETS WILL NOT SCAN AT THE GATE AND WILL NOT ALLOW ENTRY!

Wednesday night's matchup against the Tigers will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2. Courtney Lyle (play-by-play) and Katie George (analyst) will describe the action.
SEC OPENER
Tennessee opens SEC play against Missouri - who the Lady Vols ended the regular season versus in 2021. The series has gone back-and-forth as of late with Mizzou winning twice in 2019 and UT winning twice in the spring of 2021. Head coach Eve Rackham Watt is 4-3 versus the Tigers in her career at Tennessee.
RISING UP IN THE MIDDLE
Klaudia Pawlik and Keondreya Granberry have stepped up in the middle with the absence of Danielle Mahaffey. During last week's trio of matches against No. 21 Western Kentucky, No. 12 Pittsburgh and No. 5 Ohio State, both players played well and combined for 27 kills, 18 blocks and 37.5 points.
Against Pitt, Pawlik scored six kills and hit .714, while coming up with four digs and a block. She repeated her strong performance versus Ohio State with five kills, a .571 hit percentage and three blocks.
Granberry posted a career-high five blocks in UT's match with Ohio State and added seven kills on a .538 attack percentage. Against both WKU and Pitt the true freshman tallied four kills and three blocks.
TEAM LEADER
Morgahn Fingall leads the Lady Vols in kills and kills per set at 178 and 4.24. She also leads the SEC in kills per set and ranks 21st nationally. In total kills, the right-side attacker is first in the league and is tied for 32nd in the country. She is also first in the SEC and 26th in the nation in points at 208.5.
SCOUTING MISSOURI
2022 Record: 7-3 Overall
Series Record: Mizzou leads, 11-7
Last Meeting: November 24, 2021 – A five-set win for Missouri.
Key Player/Stat: Sophomore Kaylee Cox and senior Anna Dixon led the Tigers in kills in all three matches in the Bulldog Brawl last weekend, with each player posting double digits each match. They currently lead the team in kills with 153 and 126 on the season, respectively.
Riley Buckley runs the offense for the Tigers and averages 9.45 assists per set. She is also averaging 1.10 kills per set and has 44 kills on the year.
