May 17, 2022 | Rowing, Tennessee Tailored
IRVING, Texas – Excelling in competition as well as the classroom, Tennessee rowing landed 25 student-athletes on the 2022 All-Big 12 Academic First Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA and have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
Tennessee is coming off the Big 12 Championship, which saw the Lady Vol 1V8 and 2V8 lineups win silver medals to fuel the Big Orange to a second-place finish in the NCAA Automatic Qualifier races with 64 points.
Up next, the NCAA Championships will take place on May 27-29 in Sarasota, Florida. The Lady Vols will await their fate to see if they receive an at-large bid for the championships with Tuesday's (May 17) selection show at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
