TRACK CENTRAL: Penn Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee track & field team returns to the Penn Relays for the first time since the spring of 2019. The Vols and Lady Vols will compete over three days – Thursday, Friday and Saturday – April 28-30 at Franklin Field.
2022 marks the 126th running of the Penn Relays and the first since 2019, with the past two years being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MEET SCHEDULE
Chandler Hayden opens the meet for UT on Thursday in the college women's hammer throw at 1:30 p.m. ET. Tennessee athletes will also run in the college women's 400-meter hurdles, men's 1,500m, men's and women's 3,000m steeplechase and men's and women's 5,000m Thursday evening.
Friday features Vols and Lady Vols in the men's distance medley relay, men's discus throw, women's 4x400-meter relay and women's DMR. UT concludes the meet Saturday with the men's 4x800-meter relay, men's 4-mile championship, men's shot put, men's discus throw championship, women's 4x800m relay, women's 4x1,500-meter relay and women's shot put.
SPLIT SQUAD
The squad at the Penn Relays is comprised of middle and long-distance runners and select field athletes. In total, 28 Vols and Lady Vols will be in action at the 126th Penn Relays.
Meanwhile, UT is sending a squad of 26 to Baton Rouge for the LSU Invitational on Saturday, April 30. The meet at LSU is one-day only with the program's sprinters, jumpers and pole vaulters representing the Orange & White.
