Vols In Ninth Through Two Rounds at National Invitational Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. – The 13th-ranked Tennessee men's golf team is in ninth place entering the final round at the National Invitational Tournament after a 36-hole day Friday.
Each of the tournament's 15 teams played a total of 36 holes each on Friday and are set to play a final 18 on Saturday. Tennessee shot 9-under as a team on Friday—7-under in round one and 2-under in round two.
Spencer Cross and Bryce Lewis once again led the way for the Vols, each shooting two-round totals of 2-under.
Cross shot 5-under during round one before carding a 3-over in round two, while Lewis carded a round of even par in round one and shot 2-under in round two. Cross and Lewis now each have 11 rounds of par or better this season, while Lewis has now shot par or better in 10 straight rounds.
Tyler Johnson and Hunter Wolcott are also tied entering Saturday's final round, carding identical during each round on Friday—1-under in round one and even par in round two.
Johnson now has 12 rounds of par better this season, including seven straight. Johnson and Wolcott are tied for 36th place through two rounds.
Tennessee's lowest member of the lineup on the leaderboard through two rounds, Jake Hall shot 6-over during round one, but rebounded to shoot a counting round of even par during round two. Hall is 6-over and in 79th place heading into round three.
Competing as an individual, freshman Laurent Desmarchais shot two rounds of 1-over to settle on a 2-over total through two rounds. Desmarchais is tied for 61st entering Saturday.
