Track Central: Tyson Invite / Music City Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee track & field is splitting up this weekend as student-athletes will compete at Arkansas' Tyson Invite and Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12.
UT's sprinters, jumpers and middle distance athletes will head to Arkansas, while the throwers and distance runners travel to Vanderbilt.
MEET INFO
The Tyson Invite begins Friday at 3:15 p.m. ET with the women's long jump and concludes Saturday at 4:45 p.m. with the women's 4x400-meter relay. A live stream is available for both days starting at 5 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Live results will be provided by Flash Results.
At the Music City Challenge, the Orange & White open at 4 p.m. ET Friday with men's weight throw. Tennessee wraps up its weekend in Nashville on Saturday with the men's and women's 3,000-meter run beginning at approximately 4 p.m.
PrimeTime Timing will supply live results for the meet. Friday's and Saturday's events can be streamed on SECN+ beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Vols and Lady Vols competed at the Doc Hale Elite Meet and the Meyo Invitational. At Doc Hale, Brooke Dixon broke the freshman record for the indoor mile at 4:44.81. Her time broke the previous rookie record of 4:46.17 set by Sarah Bowman in 2005.
Tennessee also picked up event wins from Uchechi Nwogwugwu in the women's 400-meter and from Ethan Robinson in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
At the Meyo Invitational, Tim Thacker set the second-fastest indoor mile in Vol history, crossing the line in 4:02.79. In the women's mile, Katie Thronson went 4:39.35 to move to third all-time on the Lady Vols' indoor mile top-10 list.
