Vols in the NFL - Week 10 Update
November 15, 2022 | Football
Week 10 of NFL action is in the books for former Tennessee Volunteers in the NFL. The weekend of play featured a historic game overseas that two VFLs played in, rookies continuing to find success in Year 1 and a milestone achieved for a wideout on the West Coast.
On Sunday, at 9:30 a.m. ET, a regular season NFL game kicked off on German soil for the first time ever as Justin Coleman and Darrell Taylor took to Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany –normally the home of Bayern Munich. Both former Vols found the stat sheet as they each logged a tackle in the game on a monumental day for football and the sports ever-growing popularity internationally.
Rookies Theo Jackson and Alontae Taylor continue to impress in the secondary as Jackson recorded his first career multi-tackle game in a thrilling 33-30 comeback overtime victory for the Minnesota Vikings. Similarly, Alontae Taylor pulled down a season-high six tackles for the New Orleans Saints against Pittsburgh. The first-year cornerback, who has started his last four games, has yet to allow a touchdown this season.
On the offensive side of the ball, Jauan Jennings reached a career milestone in San Francisco's 22-16 Sunday night victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He had four receptions for 40 yards in the game and tallied his 500th NFL receiving yard in his second year in the league.
In roster news, Josh Malone signed to the Steelers' practice squad last Tuesday. It is his first NFL contract this season after spending the latter part of 2021 on Green Bay's practice squad.
