KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee track & field returns to action this weekend as 56 student-athletes compete at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Virginia. The meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House.
MEET INFO
The meet begins Friday at 10:30 a.m. ET with the men's heptathlon 60-meter and concludes that night at 9:15 p.m. with the men's 300-meter. Saturday begins at 9 a.m. with men's pole vault and wraps up in the afternoon at 4 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
Tennessee is set to compete against 11 programs, including eight from the ACC: Clemson, Duke, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest and hosts Virginia Tech. Charlotte, Georgetown and UCF complete the field of teams competing this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
UT opened its 2022 track & field season last weekend at the Virginia Tech Invitational, winning seven events over the course of the two-day meet.
Newcomer Charisma Taylor opened with a pair of victories, winning the 60-meter hurdles and long jump competition. Taylor set personal bests in each event as she posted a time of 8.11 in prelims of the 60mH before following up with an 8.15 run in finals.
Taylor's time in prelims tied Domonique Turner for third-fastest in program history in the event.
Over at long jump, Taylor leaped 6.25m (20-6.25) for the victory and tied Menka Scott on the indoor list for sixth all-time in Lady Vol history.
A pair of freshmen also brought home victories for the Big Orange as Sara Borton won on women's pole vault with a height of 4.00m (13-1.5). On the track, Mia O'Neil picked up her first collegiate win in the women's 200m as she crossed the line in 24.57.
Joella Lloyd in the women's 60m, Sydney Seymour in the women's 3,000m and the men's DMR quartet of Will Mazur, Blake Ewaskey, Tim Thacker and Riley Buchholz rounded out Tennessee's victories last weekend.
MULTIS OPEN UP
Tennessee's combined events group will compete in the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon for the first time this season at this weekend's Hokie Invite. Peyton Davis, Ethan Robinson and Yariel Soto will represent the Vols, while Caroline Lewis will compete for the Lady Vols.
UP NEXT
The Vols and Lady Vols head to Clemson, South Carolina, next weekend as they continue their indoor season at the Bob Pollock Meet on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29.
