
Career Milestone Highlights Second Day at College Ranked Spotlight +1

CARY, N.C. – Picking up three wins in the afternoon, the Tennessee women's tennis team rolled through the second day of the College Ranked Spotlight +1 at the Cary Tennis Park, Friday.
Senior Rebeka Mertena picked up the 60th win of her career in her second match of the day. After falling in a ranked showdown in her first bout, she came back to take down Daevina Achong from Miami, 6-2, 6-4. The Latvia native reached the milestone in only 93 matches and has faced 29 ranked opponents thus far in her career.
Tenika McGiffin, also freshly off her 60th career win, faced another foe from Miami, Audrey Boch-Collins, and powered past her, 6-2, 7-6(2) in the round of 16. The fifth-year Vol has played 98 singles matches in her decorated career.
Elza Tomase continued her white-hot start to the fall slate, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 over Andrea Cerdan of Michigan. The freshman is 6-1 thus far and has battled to three 3-set victories in as many tries.
