Lady Vols Finish Sixth at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Play at Cherokee Country Club for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship concluded Tuesday, as the Tennessee women's golf team logged a sixth-place finish.
Tennessee shot 11-over in round three, but battled throughout the day, as three Lady Vols logged even-par back nines.
Junior Nicole Whiston shot +1 (72) in the final round, finishing the tournament tied for 20th at 4-over, 217. Vanessa Gilly, a sophomore, shot +3 (74) Tuesday and finished the event in a tie for 16th place at 3-over, after 54 holes.
Sophomore Kayla Holden, competing as an individual this week, carded a score of 1-over, 72, in the third round to conclude the tournament tied for 20th at +4, 217. In her second tournament as a Lady Vol, freshman Bailey Davis wrapped up Tuesday's action in a tie for 26th, shooting 2-over, 73, in round three and 5-over, 218 overall.
Tuesday saw senior Hadley Walts round out UT's counting scores, carding a +5 (76) in the final round. Fellow senior Mikayla Bardwell shot 7-over, 78 in round three. Walts and Bardwell each finished tied for 32nd place.
