Baseball Announces 2021 Fall Schedule
September 21, 2021 | Baseball
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee baseball announced its 2021 fall schedule on Tuesday, highlighted by October matchups against Georgia State and Louisiana Tech.
The Volunteers, fresh of their first College World Series appearance since 2005, officially begin fall practice on Sept. 30. All intrasquad scrimmages during the fall will be open to the public and those dates will be shared each week.
UT will play the first of two fall games on Oct. 23 when they take on Georgia State in Chattanooga at AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts.
A week later, the Vols will travel west for a matchup with Louisiana Tech on Oct. 30 at USA Stadium in Millington, Tennessee, which is located in Shelby County just outside of Memphis.
Tennessee will round out the fall season with its annual Fall World Series, a five-game series which will begin on Nov. 2. All FWS games will be held at Lindsey Nelson Stadium and be open to the public free of charge.
The Vols return 24 letterwinners from last season's Omaha team, including "Super Seniors" in outfielder Evan Russell, first baseman Luc Lipcius and relief pitcher Redmond Walsh. The Big Orange also added a handful of marquee transfers and welcomed the nation's No. 5 ranked signing class according to Baseball America.
