Singles Propel Lady Vols through Second Day at Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. – With five singles wins, the Tennessee women's tennis team concluded its second day of play at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic at Furman.
Rebeka Mertena is off to a blistering fall start, breezing through her match against #104 Julia Adams of Furman, 6-2, 6-1. Eléonora Molinaro also is 2-0 in singles action. She cleaned up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ohio State's Maddie Atway.
The Australians both won their singles bouts, Tenika McGiffin beating Ana Campana from Wake Forest, 7-5, 7-6(7). Olivia Symons faced Misa Malkin of South Carolina and took her down, 6-4, 6-3.
Daria Kuczer was locked in a battle with Tamara Racine from Mississippi State, that was until the third set when the senior took over, dominating the stanza 6-1 en route to a win.
Kylie Duckworth and Eléonora Molinaro picked up the lone doubles win for the Orange and White, topping Berenznyak/Schoenly from Ohio State, 6-4, in the morning session.
