White Offering UT Students Free Guest-Ticket Option For Season-Opener

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Any currently enrolled University of Tennessee student who purchases a student ticket to the Volunteers' season-opener against Bowling Green can receive a free guest ticket to the game, Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White announced on Thursday.
The request period for student and guest tickets opens on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Big Orange Tix serves as the official student ticket source for Tennessee football. Home student football tickets are sold at a discounted rate of $10 each.
Students can request tickets starting 10 days before game day during the request period. Once the request period ends, a selection/seat assignment lottery, based on loyalty points, is conducted to identify the students and groups that will have the opportunity to purchase tickets during two different claim periods.
The special Thursday, Sept. 2, contest marks the start of the centennial celebration of Neyland Stadium, Shield-Watkins Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on SEC Network. First-year head coach Josh Heupel leads his Volunteers into the program's 125th season of football.
