Morrissett Earns Second Team All-America Honors

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After a strong senior campaign, Tennessee rower Lindsey Morrissett earned a spot on the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) 2021 Division I Pocock All-America Second Team.

The Big 12 All-Conference performer helped guide Tennessee to a 17th-place team finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships. Morrissett was a part of the 2V8 group that placed 16th in the country at NCAAs. Her boat also finished second at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 7:10.357.

The Atoka, Tennessee, native won two of three races in the 2V8 at the Big Ten Invitational, besting No. 7 Alabama, No. 15 Wisconsin and No. 17 Minnesota on day one, and edging out No. 17 Minnesota, Notre Dame and Michigan State on day two. She rowed in UT's 1V8 boat during the UVA Invite and the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite, beating a combined four top-20 teams.

Morrissett marked the seventh All-American under UT head coach Lisa Glenn's tutelage. Criteria considered for the selections included boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements and 2k erg score.

Morrissett also excelled in the classroom, being named a three-time Big 12 Academic All-Conference honoree and earning a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll all four years.
