#SwimTrials21: Brown to Swim in 50m Free Final Sunday

OMAHA, Neb. – Continuing her trek through the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials, LVFL Erika Brown locked-in her spot in the 50m freestyle final on Saturday at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Brown entered the 50 free semifinal Saturday evening as the fourth-seed, after her prelims qualifying time of 24.76. In the semifinal, Brown tied her career-best time in the event as she got to the wall in 24.57. She finished second in the first semifinal heat and will be the fifth-seed in finals.
The 2020 UT graduate has already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the 100m freestyle and will look to add the 50m free to her event schedule Sunday night.
Fellow LVFL Madeline Banic also swam in the women's 50m free, finishing 41st overall in prelims. The 2019 Tennessee graduate got to the wall in a time of 25.95.
The U.S. Olympic Swim Trials close out competition Sunday with finals of the men's freestyle 50m, women's freestyle 50m and men's freestyle 1500m. The finals will be broadcast on NBC, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
