Bell Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team Nod

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Rising senior Ava Bell has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District III Women's Volleyball First Team honors, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced this week. As a first team member, Bell will be on the national ballot, which will be released later this month.
This is the first CoSIDA All-District honor for the Austin, Texas, native.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Bell's on-court success this season led to recognition from the AVCA as she was named All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention.
Bell finished the season leading Tennessee in hitting percentage (.353) and blocks per set (1.08). The middle blocker closed out the season ranked fourth in the SEC in blocks per set and ninth in hitting percentage.
Throughout the season, Bell led UT in blocks 11 times, including a season-high nine blocks in the finale against LSU. The middle blocker also tallied four solo blocks in a single match twice during the year against Mississippi State and LSU.
