June 01, 2021 | Men's Tennis
The Tennessee men's tennis team has announced the signing of Oklahoma State transfer Emile Hudd to fully complete its 2021 signing class.
"We're looking forward to working with Emile," Associate Head Coach James McKie said. "He's a player that has a ton of collegiate experience already under his belt and is both a player and a person that has all of the intangibles to help us win a National Championship."
The London, England native will arrive in Knoxville with two years of eligibility remaining and a host of collegiate experience.
During his three seasons at Oklahoma State, Hudd was a mainstay at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles for the Cowboys earning career-high ITA rankings of No. 87 in singles and No. 19 in doubles.
As a freshman, Hudd and then-partner Maxim Tybar won the ITA Central Region Doubles Championship in the Fall of 2018.
In the classroom, Hudd was also named a 2020 ITA Scholar Athlete.
As a junior player, before arriving in Stillwater, Hudd earned a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 89 and won ITF junior events in Zimbabwe, Ireland and Norway.
Hudd also took part in the European Youth Olympics in 2015 and was a competitor at junior Wimbledon in 2018.
Hudd will join an already talented Tennessee recruiting class that includes incoming freshmen Louis Cloud, Conor Gannon and Shunsuke Mitsui, along with transfer Angel Diaz.
The Vols five man recruiting class will join an already talented team that advanced to its first NCAA semifinal since 2010 and earned its first SEC tournament title in over a decade.
