Whiston in Top Five, Lady Vols Tied For Eighth After First Two Rounds of LSU Tiger Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – Sophomore Nicole Whiston led Tennessee through the first two rounds of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic on Tuesday.
Whiston's second round score of 4-under, 68, ties the best single round score of her career, in which she last recorded at the White Sands Invitational as a freshman last season.
As a team, the Lady Vols are tied for eighth place with 18 holes remaining.
"We didn't get off to a good start in round two, but did a great job hanging in there and made some nice birdies," head coach Judi Pavon said. "Nicole had a great second round and put herself in good position individually going into tomorrow."
With six birdies in the second round, Whiston is tied for fifth at 1-under entering Wednesday's final round.
Mikayla Bardwell tallied six birdies of her own during the second round, for a score of +3 (75) in round two. She is currently tied for 29th.
Tuesday's opening round served as the 150th career round for Micheala Williams-Luck. The program record holder for most rounds played in a career stands in a tie for 29th place following a 2-over, 74, performance in the second round.
Vanessa Gilly shot 8-over through the first two rounds in Baton Rouge, birding hole 12 in both the first and second rounds on Tuesday.
