Track Central: Clark Wood Open

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — 17 athletes from the Tennessee track & field program will head north of the state line this weekend for the Clark Wood Open, hosted by the University of Louisville. The meet is set for Friday and Saturday, April 23-24 at Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park.

The Big Orange will be represented in 13Â events throughout the weekend, beginning Friday at 2 p.m. as Prom'Myse Hoosier and Kiara Rhodes compete in the second flight of the women's long jump. The opening day's action will conclude at 5:40 p.m. with Britton Wilson running the 400-meter hurdles.

Saturday's competition will open at 12:30 p.m. when graduate transfer Jah-Nhai Perinchief makes his Tennessee debut in flight two of the men's triple jump. The meet will wrap up for UT at 3:50 p.m. as the redshirt freshman duo of Matthew McMillan and Eli Nahom run the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Tennessee will be one of 21 Division I schools represented at the meet. Other programs include Bellarmine, Belmont, Bowling Green, Butler, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Loyola-Chicago, Memphis, Murray State, Notre Dame, Southern Illinois, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

LAST TIME OUT: The Big Orange split up last weekend with entries at the Virginia Challenge and the USC Open. UT totaled six event titles and nine outdoor personal-best marks over the course of the weekend.

NCAA TOP-25 MARKS: Through the five weeks of outdoor season, the Vols and Lady Vols have combined for 15 marks that rank inside the top-25 on the NCAA Division I leaderboard.
