UT Closes Out Big Ten Invitational With Three Wins

BETHEL, Ohio – The ninth-ranked Lady Vols closed out the Big Ten Invitational with three first-place finishes on Sunday, besting No. 17 Minnesota, Notre Dame, and Michigan State.

UT's 1V8 was the first to race, making it down the course in 6:39.779 to edge out the Gophers, who were close behind at 6:40.269. Notre Dame was in third at 6:49.594, and Michigan State came in fourth 10 seconds later.

The Tennessee 2V8 recorded its second first-place finish of the weekend, finishing in 6:46.646 to beat second-place Minnesota by nearly three seconds. Notre Dame was third (6:56.205) and Michigan State came in fourth (7:02.124).

The UTÂ 1V4 posted its fastest time of the weekend to hold off the Fighting Irish, taking first at 7:25.075 with Notre Dame close behind at 7:26.485. Michigan State and Minnesota came in third and fourth, respectively, in a photo finish with times of 7:39.029 and 7:39.154.Â

The 2V4 closed out the weekend for the Lady Vols, placing second with a time of 7:33.300. Notre Dame finished first (7:29.694), Minnesota was third (7:39.674), and Louisville was fourth (7:59.432).

With the cancellation of the Women's Eastern Sprints, this will serve as Tennessee's final tune-up before the Big 12 Conference Championship on May 16 in Austin, Texas.
