Bell Earns Honorable Mention AVCA All-Region Honors

Tennessee volleyball's Ava Bell has been named All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the governing body announced Tuesday.

This is the first AVCA all-region honor for Bell and the third consecutive year the Lady Vols have had at least one player earn all-region status. It is the longest such streak for UT since a five-year run from 2008-12.

"We are so excited for Ava," head coach Eve Rackham Watt said. "I thought she had a tremendous season after working so hard to get healthy. She was a consistent presence for us in the middle and someone we really counted on match after match. I am so proud of Ava and this recognition, she is definitely deserving."

Bell finished the season leading Tennessee in hitting percentage (.353) and blocks per set (1.08). The Austin, Texas, native also closed out the season ranked fourth in the SEC in blocks per set and ninth in hitting percentage.

Throughout the season, Bell led UT in blocks 11 times, including a season-high nine blocks in the finale against LSU. The middle blocker also tallied four solo blocks in a single match twice during the year against Mississippi State and LSU.
