March 27, 2021 | Men's Golf
WEST POINT, Miss. – For the second straight day, the Tennessee men's golf team registered an impressive round and is set to enter the final round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in fourth place.
The Vols shot 11-under for the day on Saturday and were one of only two teams in the 14-team field to have every member shoot par or better on the day. Tennessee is just four strokes out of the lead heading into Sunday's final round at Old Waverly Golf Club.
"We played very well today," head coach Brennan Webb said. "It always makes a difference in the momentum of the round when all five guys are in control of their rounds and that is what we have had the last two days.
"We are looking forward to another good day tomorrow."
For the second day in a row, Spencer Cross gave Tennessee its best round, carding a 4-under. Searching for his first collegiate individual title, Cross is 7-under overall and in sole possession of second place, just two strokes out of the overall lead.
