Lady Vols Fall on the Road at Alabama, 3-1

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Tennessee volleyball team fell to Alabama in four sets (25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 15-25) Friday night at Foster Auditorium.
Tennessee (9-8, 9-8 SEC) was plagued by errors at the service line, committing 18 on the night, while also suffering with 17 errors in attack. UT committed 12 attack errors in the final two sets after having just five errors in the opening two sets.
Alabama (7-12, 7-12 SEC) reversed its fortunes after a disastrous first set that saw it hit -.045. The Tide hit .407 in the second, .225 in the third and .414 in the final set.
Sophomore right side hitter Morgahn Fingall led the Lady Vols in attack with 11 kills Friday night. Fingall added to her totals with four block assists and a service ace. The Fairfax, Virginia, native also had a team-high 14 points on the night.
Junior Lily Felts also reached double figures in kills, recording 10. It is the 12th time Felts has reached double-digit kills in a match this season, the most times she has reached that mark in a single year in her career.
In the middle, Danielle Mahaffey and Ava Bell combined for 15 kills and seven total blocks. Mahaffey tallied nine kills to Bell's six, while Bell gathered in five blocks, with Mahaffey coming away with two.
Junior setter Natalie Hayward dished out 31 assists, dug nine balls and earned three total blocks on the night.
Alabama was led by Kennedy Muckelroy who finished with 17 kills on 34 attacks and tallied two block assists. Abby Marjama notched 15 kills and a pair of service aces for the Crimson Tide, while Riley Fisbeck earned a double-double with 20 assists and 15 digs.
