Women's Golf Central: Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Tennessee's women's golf team opens its spring schedule with a trip to the inaugural Heroes Ladies Tournament at The Founders Club, beginning on Sunday.
Joining Tennessee in the 15-team field are Big 10 members, Purdue, Minnesota, Northwestern and Illinois, with Purdue hosting the event. Clemson, N.C. State, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame will represent the ACC. The tournament will also feature Big 12 teams Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, along with two SEC foes in Georgia and Ole Miss. Augusta University, from the Peach Belt Conference, rounds out the field.
The tournament marks the first time since the 2020 Florida Gators Invitational that the Lady Vols will compete in the state of Florida.
Lady Vol's Lineup
Mikayla Bardwell
Bardwell recorded two top-10 finishes in the fall, placing in a tie-for-third at The Ally at Old Waverly (-6, 210), before earning the first collegiate victory of her career at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic (-3, 213) in November. Her career-low and program-tying low score also came in the fall, when she carded a score of 8-under, 64, during the second round of The Ally at Old Waverly.
Waverly Whiston
Whiston competed in six rounds for the Lady Vols in the fall and will look to begin the spring on the right foot. The senior is currently eighth in program history with a career-low average of 74.53 (minimum two seasons and 45 rounds).
Kayla Holden
Sunday will mark Holden's first time in the official Lady Vol lineup since arriving on Rocky Top. The freshman won four consecutive district championships in high school and will look to bring her 'A' game to The Founders Club.
Micheala Williams-Luck
The Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic treated Luck well to end fall competition, as she finished in a tie-for-fourth (-1, 215) and helped the Lady Vols secure a second-place team finish.
Vanessa Gilly
Gilly concluded fall competition with a season-low score of 68 on day three of the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic, after finishing The Ally at Old Waverly in a tie for seventh place (-2, 214).

The course is located on the southwestern coast of Florida and features oak, pine and palm trees, as well as lakes and wetlands.
