GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Tennessee women's golf team finished in eighth place as the Gators Invitational came to a close on Tuesday.

Freshman Kayla Holden concluded the second tournament of her collegiate career with a top-10 effort, finishing in a tie for sixth place after carding a three-day score of +2 (212).

"It was nice to have a couple good scores out there today," head coach Judi Pavon said. "Kayla played very well, following up her good finish last week with a top 10 this week. Her game looks very solid and she is playing with a lot of confidence."

Nicole Whiston finished her fourth tournament of the 2020-21 season in a tie for 29^th after shooting even-par (70) round on day three. She carded a total score of 10-over, 220, at the 49^th running of the Gators Invitational.

"Nicole came through today with a really good round, which will help her be ready for next week," Pavon said.

Following a 6-over, 76, round three for Micheala Williams, she finished in a tie for 38^th place at 12-over, 222, for the week.

Mikayla Bardwell rounded out Tennessee's third round scoring lineup at 9-over, 79, on Tuesday. She placed in a tie for 62^nd, recording a three-day score of +19 (229).

Vanessa Gilly finished the week tied for 65^th, carding a score of +20 (230).

"We need to get a couple good days of practice in before we head to South Carolina," Pavon said. "We need to convert our five-to-eight-foot putts better if we want to be competitive."
