Holden in Top 10, Lady Vols in Eighth After Day Two of Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Steady rounds from freshmen Kayla Holden and Vanessa Gilly helped keep the Tennessee women's golf team in the mix at eighth place after day two of the Gators Invitational on Monday.
"Our two freshmen stepped up today and played well," head coach Judi Pavon said. "Kayla is in great shape heading into the last round. We need everyone to come together for a good round tomorrow because the leaderboard is really bunched up."
Holden led the Lady Vols in round two, with two birdies and a pair of bogeys resulting in an even-par day. After just her fourth collegiate round, she sits in a tie for eighth place with 18 holes to go.
Gilly shot +3 (73) in round two and is tied for 36th at 8-over, 148 entering round three.
Micheala Williams-Luck is tied for 22nd through two rounds, after shooting 6-over, 76, on Monday.
Sophomore Nicole Whiston rounded out UT's round two scoring lineup. She stands in a tie for 48th place after a +7 (77) day.
Mikayla Bardwell is also tied for 48th, after shooting +8 (78) on day two at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Tennessee stands just four shots behind the top-five entering Tuesday's final round.
