No. 22 Tennessee Falls in Four Sets at No. 23 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 22nd-ranked Lady Vols volleyball team fell in four sets (25-22, 17-25, 23-25, 16-25) Thursday night to 23rd-ranked Florida at Exactech Arena.
Tennessee (16-6, 8-4 SEC) hit .177 over four sets with 52 kills, three service aces and eight blocks. Florida (15-6, 9-2 SEC) hit .298 on the night, putting away 63 kills, tallying five aces and posting 9.5 blocks.
Danielle Mahaffey hit .308 for UT Thursday night as she scored 11 kills and put up six blocks.
Morgahn Fingall led the Orange & White with 14 kills and four blocks. Breana Runnels finished with nine kills and 11 digs, while Lily Felts put down seven kills with 11 digs.
For Florida, T'ara Ceasar notched a match-high 25 kills on a .352 hitting percentage. The Gator outside hitter finished the night with 31.5 points as she scored all five of Florida's aces and put up three blocks.
Lauren Forte and Thayer Hall each put down double-digit kills as they scored 11 and 10, respectively. Marlie Monserez earned a double-double with 48 assists and 17 digs.
Tennessee came out firing in the opening set, winning 25-22 behind a .484 hitting percentage. Fingall led the Big Orange with five kills, while Felts chipped in with four and Mahaffey and Runnels notched three apiece.
Florida evened the match in the second as it won, 25-17. Ceasar led the way for the Gators as she scored seven kills on 14 attempts.
A tight back-and-forth third set went Florida's way, 25-23, as it took a 2-1 lead in the match. The lead changed hands five times during the third and a crucial coaches challenge that went for Florida tied the set at, 23-23.
Following an attack error by UT, Ceasar hit one of her five aces on the night to clinch the third-set win for Florida.
Florida closed out the match with a 25-16 fourth-set victory. The Gators hit .481, while UT struggled to find a rhythm, hitting .083.
