PREVIEW: Swim & Dive Hosts Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Welcoming some of the nation's top teams, Tennessee swimming & diving will host the annual Tennessee Invitational Thursday through Saturday at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

Eight teams will be competing at the Tennessee Invite: Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas (women only), Carson-Newman (swimming only), Emory (diving only), South Carolina, UNLV and Virginia. The women's side is highlighted by three top-20 teams, as the No. 7 Lady Vols are joined by No. 1 Virginia and No. 16 Alabama as well as Arkansas and South Carolina, which are both receiving votes in the latest poll. The men's side features four ranked teams, as the 13th-ranked Vols host No. 7 Virginia, No. 23 UNLV and No. 24 Alabama.

Admission is free for all regular season meets, and the clear-bag policy will be in place for all fans. Though not required for entry to Jones Aquatic Center or movement throughout the seating area, facial coverings are encouraged.

Parking on Thursday and Friday will be available in Lot SC40 off Kingston Pike near Tyson Park. Parking for Saturday will coincide with football parking.

The three-day championship style meet is a prelims/finals format with events as set forth below. All events will be conducted as prelims/finals, with these exceptions swum as timed finals: all relays and the 1650 freestyle. All heats of the 1650 will swim in the morning except the top eight swimmers. Finals will swim C/B/A format, while events with a 200 or shorter distance will also have a D final. Time trials will be held after each session.
