Kadynce Boothe Signs with Lady Vols
November 10, 2021 | Volleyball
Outside hitter Kadynce Boothe officially signed with the Tennessee volleyball program Wednesday and will join the Lady Vols in January.
Â
A PrepVolleyball.com top-150 player, Boothe comes to Rocky Top from Kernersville, North Carolina, and East Forsyth High School.
Â
Rated as the 110th-ranked recruit in the nation and the fourth-ranked in North Carolina by PrepVolleyball.com, the 6-1 Boothe has been named to the AVCA Best and Brightest First Team and the region three AVCA All-Region first team. She is also a member of the 2021 AVCA High School Third-Team All-America.Â
Â
"We are looking forward to welcoming Kadynce to our Tennessee volleyball program this spring," head coach Eve Rackham Watt said. "Our staff has been excited about this day for a long time and believe Kadynce will be a special player on Rocky Top.
Â
"She is a true six-rotation outside hitter with a great arm and a great serve. We will have an opportunity to train her next semester, which gives us an advantage going into our 2022 season."
Â
Boothe holds several school-records at East Forsyth, including single-season records for kills (588), digs (273), kill percentage (47.7) and kills per set (6.39). She also holds career records in kills (1,398), digs (825) and sets played (290).
Â
As a four-time Central Piedmont All-Conference selection, Boothe has also been named the CPC Player of the Year for the last three seasons. She is a two-time All-State performer.
Â
"I chose to attend the University of Tennessee because I love the culture there," Boothe said. "First in women's athletics, a lot of times female sports can be overlooked and unappreciated, but I love how everyone supports female athletes as well as the male athletes. Secondly, I love how much pride the University has in truly taking care of its students. On an athletic level, I chose to attend Tennessee because it has been my dream to play in the SEC with a special group of girls who will work to win a national title. I am so excited to be able to contribute to a team with amazing girls and coaches."
Â
Along with playing high school volleyball at East Forsyth, Boothe played club ball for Piedmont Volleyball Club out of Greensboro, North Carolina.
