Adeshina and Kuczer Move On at ITA All-Americans

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – In the first day of main draw doubles, the pair of Esther Adeshina and Daria Kuczer went 1-1, advancing to the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket at the ITA All-American Championships at the LTP Tennis Club.
After dropping a heartbreaking first match, 7-9 to #21 Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith of San Diego, the pair jumped back out on the court to face Page Freeman and Julia Lillen from Notre Dame. This time, the fifth-ranked duo found its groove, winning 8-5 and moving on to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket.
The experienced pairing is set to play again Friday, Oct. 8, at 3:30 p.m. against Shiori Fukuda and Taisiya Pachkaleva from Pepperdine.
In the morning singles session, Rebeka Mertena was locked in a battle with Wake Forest's Carolyn Campana. The match saw the two ranked players play nine deuce bouts, but Campana made the points when they meant the most, winning 6-4, 6-1.
