Lady Vols Set for ITA All-American Championship in Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – After an off weekend, the Tennessee women's tennis team is back and ready for the ITA All-American Championship at the LTP Tennis Club with one player competing in singles and one doubles pairing.

After rain delayed the second day of qualifiers, the complete draw has not been finalized as qualifying matches are still to be played out. Potential schedule changes may occur as courts permit, the tournament is will be played on a green clay surface.

A tentative schedule has the first singles matches occurring tomorrow with doubles matches beginning later in the afternoon.

Rebeka Mertena still awaits a qualifier for her first singles match in the main draw, while the pair of Esther Adeshina and Daria Kuczer also await their opponent in the doubles bracket.

The last time the tournament was played in 2019, Tenika McGiffin and Kaitlin Staines went to the championship in doubles, falling to Yale's Jessie Gong and Samantha Martinelli, 6-2, 3-6, 0-1 (10-8). UT has two doubles championships at the All-American Championship in 2007 (Natalie Pluskota and Caitlin Whoriskey) and 2009 (Whoriskey and Zsofia Zubor)

The event is slated to run through the weekend with a main draw championship and a consolation bracket.
