Vols in Third Entering Final Round at Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – All five members of the lineup carded under-par performances and the 16th-ranked Tennessee men's golf team is set to enter the final round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in third place.
The Vols shot 11-under as a team on Saturday, bringing their two-round total to 18-under. Entering the tournament's final round in third place of a field that includes eight top-25 teams, Tennessee is eight strokes behind first-place defending national champion Pepperdine and four strokes behind Texas A&M.
For the fifth consecutive round to open the season, Spencer Cross shot below par on Saturday—carding a 3-under 69. Cross shot six birdies over the course of the day and is 5-under through two rounds.
Cross enters Sunday's final 18 holes tied with Tyler Johnson in eighth place overall. After shooting 3-under during round one, Johnson followed it up with a 2-under round in which he carded four birdies in the final six holes. In five rounds as a member of Tennessee's lineup this fall, Johnson has yet to shoot above par.
Along with Cross and Johnson, Jake Hall also shot under par for the second straight day. Hall shot 1-under 71 on Saturday to bring his total to 4-under, moving him into 13th place heading into round three—just one stroke out of the top 10. Hall's career-best finish as a Vol is 16th place.
Bryce Lewis shot 2-under 70 during round two to improve to 1-under overall. Lewis is tied for 25th going into round three, searching for his 12th career top-25 finish.
After shooting a team-worst 4-over on Friday, Hunter Wolcott rebounded on Saturday to give the Vols their best round of the day—carding a 4-under 68. After Saturday's eight-birdie performance, Wolcott's two-round total sits at even par. He enters the third round tied for 33rd place overall.
