CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Tennessee rowing wraps up its fall slate this weekend with the Head of the Charles Regatta, one of the world's largest rowing events, competing in races Saturday and Sunday.
Â
"Going into the weekend, we are excited to put a few finishing touches on the training we have done this fall," head coach Lisa Glenn said. "We look forward to performing in the Cambridge setting on the Charles River. It's a venue and an event that is unrivaled in rowing. For our team of eight and our team of four that get to compete, it will be quite the experience. For three miles, the shoreline will be packed with fans, so you get a really big-time event kind of feel."
Â
The Lady Vols open the weekend with a boat in the Women's Club 4+ at 12:27 p.m. on Saturday. Tennessee will then race in the Women's Championship 8+ at 2:25Â p.m. on Sunday. UT finished second in the Club 4+ when the Lady Vols last competed in the event in 2019.
Â
"I'm thrilled to take our rowers," Glenn said. "They deserve to go and are prepared to go. It's anyone's race in the championship eight. It is such a fast event, but we are ready. I'm excited for them to have a great piece. It's good to back."
Â
Live results for the HOCR will be posted throughout the weekend HERE.
