Cross Country Preview: FSU Invite / Pre-Nationals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Racing in its final regular-season meet of the 2021 campaign, the Tennessee men's and women's cross country teams head to Tallahassee, Florida, for the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals meet.
The meet will run Friday, Oct. 15 at the Apalachee Regional Park. The men's 8k Garnet race gets the day started at 8 a.m. ET and is followed by the women's 6k Garnet race at 8:35 a.m.
Two more races will run later in the morning, the men's open 8k and the women's open 6k.
WHO'S RUNNING
Tennessee will field a squad of 13 men and 14 women for the respective races. See below for a breakdown of Tennessee's entries.

There are 38 teams in addition to the Vols in the men's race, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss from the Southeastern Conference. The women will race against 35 other teams, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt from the SEC.
LAST TIME OUT
At the 35th Roy Griak Invitational, the Lady Vols placed third overall with Sydney Seymour (third), Katie Thronson (11th) and Olivia Janke (18th) placing in the top-20.
The men finished eighth at the Roy Griak with Karl Thiessen leading the pack as he finished 13th.
UP NEXT
The SEC Cross Country Championships are next up for the Vols and Lady Vols as they head into the postseason. The 2021 SEC Championships will be held Friday, Oct. 29 in Columbia, Missouri.
