July 27, 2020 | Men's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -Â The Tennessee men's tennis team continued its strong performance in the classroom this year as the Vols were named an ITA All-Academic Team, while four Volunteers were named Scholar-Athletes, the ITA announced Monday.
To earn ITA All-Academic Team accolades, the cumulative team GPA must be 3.2 or above. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (fall 2019 and spring 2020).
It is the second year in a row the Vols have earned the ITA All-Academic Team honor.
Teddy McEntee, Andrew Rogers, Mark Wallner and Luca Wiedenmann earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, which is given to student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.50 or better while earning a varsity letter.
It is Wiedenmann's fourth time receiving the Scholar-Athlete award and the second honor for Rogers.
Earlier this month, the Vols placed seven on the SEC Academic Honor Roll and three on the SEC First-Year Honor Roll.
The Big Orange completed the spring with a 3.67 GPA, the highest in program history. Â
