Listen: “The Slice” Podcast Featuring Wanya Morris
June 08, 2020 | Football
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Sophomore offensive lineman and freshman All-American Wanya Morris is this week's guest on "The Slice," Tennessee football's official podcast.
"The Slice" is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify (search The Slice). VFL Films' Kasey Funderburg conducts the in-depth interview, while VFL's Isaac Fowler produces the episode.
Morris, a native of Savannah, Georgia, enters his sophomore season having proved to be one of the top true freshmen offensive linemen in the nation, starting 12 of 13 games at left tackle and collecting SEC All-Freshman accolades and True Freshman All-American honors from 247Sports in 2019.
"(The coaching staff) just showed me how real they were as people, and they were just honest," Morris said. "I respect honesty more than anything. I was like, 'Yeah I can get behind a guy like this.' I saw the vision he had to rebuild and just be a part of something different. Not everybody wants to help rebuild a program. I felt like that was a big moment for me because I wanted to have my name be a part of something different."
Fans can also listen to previous episodes of "The Slice," including guests Henry To'o To'o, Trey Smith, Josh Palmer, Alontae Taylor, Eric Gray, Brandon Kennedy and Brandon Johnson.
