Four Lady Vols Named WGCA All-American Scholars

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Four Lady Vol golfers were honored as WGCA All-American Scholars, the Women's Golf Coaches Association announced Monday.

Micheala Williams, Mikayla Bardwell, Nicole Whiston and Waverly Whiston were the Lady Vols who received recognition. It is the third year in a row the Lady Vols have had four members receive the honor.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

"I'm really proud of Michaela, Mikayla, Waverly and Nicole for their strong effort in the classroom as well as on the golf course," head coach Judi Pavon said. "With all the class time we miss during the year they have to make a real effort to keep caught up and excel which they do on a daily basis."

This is the fourth consecutive year Williams has been honored, while Waverly Whiston is receiving the award for the third time. This year's honor marks the second in a row for Bardwell.
