LUBBOCK, Texas -- Two Lady Vols recorded the No. 2 marks in program history in their respective events Friday evening, as sophomore Alonie Sutton (triple jump) and senior Domonique Turner (60-meter hurdles) highlighted performances for Tennessee at the Texas Tech Invitational.
With a leap of 13.47m (44-2.5), Sutton recorded the No. 3 mark in the NCAA this season in the women's triple jump and took third place at the meet. The Smiths Station, Alabama, native's performance went down as a new lifetime-best and improved her standing as the No. 2 performer in program history.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Turner took a tenth of a second off her personal-best on Friday, clocking in at 8.10 in the semi-finals. Converting to 8.12 for altitude, the mark moved Turner from No. 5 to No. 2 on the school's all-time top 10 list, passing Olympic gold medalist Benita Fitzgerald (8.18) and three-time world champion Nia Ali (8.13).
