LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Vols (1-3, 1-3 SEC) split their home opening series against Georgia, winning the first match in four sets. The second matchup with UGA saw the Bulldogs come away with the win in five sets.
Junior Lily Felts and freshman Jasmine Brooks provided the offense for UT in both matches. Felts scored 15 and 19 kills, respectively over the pair of games, while Brooks came away with 12 and 17.
Junior setter Natalie Hayward dished out a career-high 52 assists in last Thursday's match against Georgia.
SENIOR DAY
On Saturday, the Lady Vols will celebrate senior Madison Coulter. The Maryville, Tennessee, native has been a mainstay in the UT lineup since her arrival on Rocky Top in 2017. Coulter played as an outside hitter her freshman season before moving and becoming UT's libero as a sophomore.
She has flourished as Tennessee's libero and currently ranks 14th all-time in school history in digs with 1,055. Coulter is sixth all-time in program history in digs per set, averaging 3.30 for her career.
ADAPTING QUICKLY
Brooks has shouldered a heavy load for Tennessee through the first four matches of the season, starting in her collegiate debut at No. 3 Kentucky and playing in all 16 sets for the Lady Vols this season.
The Toney, Alabama, native has adapted quickly to the college game as she has upped her kill production each time out. Brooks has also seen her attack attempts and hitting percentage rise every game as well.
SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA
South Carolina (3-1, 3-1 SEC) won both matches it played against Auburn last week. The Gamecocks won the opener in straight sets before defeating the Tigers in four sets in the second meeting.
The Gamecocks opened the season on the road at Georgia, splitting that series with a three-set win and a loss in four sets.
Kyla Manning leads the South Carolina attack, averaging 3.50 kills per set. Mikayla Robinson doesn't trail too far behind as she averages 2.71 kills per set and is hitting a team-high .392 percent.
Keeping the offense for SC in rhythm is Mallory Dixon who averages 7.07 assists per set.
The Gamecocks are currently receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
