Swim & Dive Central: Orange & White Meet

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee swimming and diving program opens the 2020-21 season Friday with its annual Orange and White Intrasquad Meet at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, spectators will be unable to attend the meet.
This will be the ninth Orange and White meet with the all-time series tied at 4-4. Last season, the White squad triumphed, winning 19 of 32 events. The victory was their third in four seasons.
The Orange team returns three event winners from last season's meet in Mallory Beil, Grace Cable and Keegan Richardson. Beil was victorious in the women's 200 butterfly, while Cable won the women's 1-meter and 3-meter springboard competitions. Richardson took home his win on the men's 1-meter springboard.
Team White brings back five event winners from a year ago with Nikol Popov, Bailey Grinter and Alexis Yager returning for the women and Michael Houlie and Will Hallam coming back on the men's side. Popov, Grinter and Yager won one event each last season, while Houlie brought home three victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and in the 200 IM. Hallam picked up his event win on the 3-meter springboard.
Unlike other intrasquad competitions, Tennessee swimmers and divers are selected to either the Orange or White team as freshman and remain with that team for the rest of their career.
