UT Collects Four Singles Wins on Day Two of UT Fall Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women's tennis team wrapped up day two of the UT Fall Invite with four singles wins and one doubles win.
UT opened the day with a slow start, winning one doubles match. Junior Daria Kuczer and sophomore Carly Briggs downed the Vanderbilt pair of Marcella Cruz and Anessa Lee 6-2.
In singles play against South Carolina, the Lady Vols bounced back winning four-of-seven singles matches, including a pair of three-set triumphs.
Junior Tenika McGiffin secured the first solo win of the night, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over USC's Gabriela Martinez. Kuczer followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Elise Mills to secure her first solo victory on Rocky Top and moves her to 4-1 as a Lady Vol.
Freshman Esther Adeshina also secured her first solo victory on Rocky Top. The freshman downed USC's Corina Spasojevic in a three-set bout, 6-7(3), 6-1, 6-0.
Briggs closed out the night for Tennessee with her own three-set battle. The sophomore triumphed over USC's Emma Shelton 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.
The Lady Vols conclude the UT Invitational tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. ET. Spectators will not be permitted at the event.
