Lady Vols open up the 2019 season with an exhibition match against High Point on Saturday afternoon
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – No. 19 University of Tennessee volleyball team is set to start the 2019 season at home in an exhibition match vs. High Point on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Lady Vols come off a run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the first season under head coach Eve Rackham where they fell to nationally seeded Washington State.
Â
High Point captured the Big South regular season and tournament crowns, advancing to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament. The Panthers fell in the opening round of the tournament to Marquette.

The first serve of the match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (ET) in Thompson-Boling Arena.

Returning All-American outside hitter Tessa Grubbs enters the season just 15 kills shy of becoming the 22nd member of the 1000-kill club in program history. Last season, Grubbs tallied 453 kills, the fourth most by a Lady Vol in the rally scoring era.

- Junior outside hitter Tessa Grubbs led the offense with 21 kills, hitting .306 for Tennessee. Junior setter Sedona Hansen had her 14th double-double of the season, finishing with 38 assists and 10 digs.
