Lady Vols Announce Overseas Trip to Europe

Tennessee to play six matches against elite international competition in tour of Italy and France
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee volleyball team will get an early start on preparations for the 2019 season this summer, as it travels to Europe for a tour that includes six matches against international competition.
This will be the first time in the program's history it will be traveling outside of the United States as a team. The 12-day excursion will bring the Lady Vols to six historic cities in Italy and France, including multi-night stays in Milan and Paris.
"We are so excited about the upcoming European tour," coach Eve Rackham said. "Our program is extremely fortunate for this opportunity and looks forward to making the most of it. This trip will give our student-athletes a once in a life time experience, where they not only will play high level volleyball, but also learn about Italian and French culture. It is an incredible team bonding opportunity as well, which we hope to use to our advantage this fall. We want to thank everyone who made this trip possible and can't wait to get started."
The match schedule includes games against elite international competition, featuring the Italian National "B" Team and the French Junior National Team.
The tour will also provide the team with opportunities to experience European culture as well as seeing some of the Europe's most historic landmarks. The Lady Vols have excursions planned to Lake Como, Arc du Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower among other sights.
Tennessee will depart for Europe on May 14 and will arrive back in Knoxville on May 25. Fans can follow along with the tour on UTsports.com as well as the on the Lady Vols' social media platforms.
