UT Lands 27 On Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Twenty-seven members of the Tennessee rowing team landed on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team, the conference announced Thursday.

Twenty-four Lady Vols were named to the first team while three earned second-team honors. Student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.20 or higher to qualify for the first team, while second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

Senior Loran Grant and sophomore Gia Hodges were Tennessee's top performers, joining just 16 other members of the Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team in recording a perfect 4.00 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
