Vols Selected to Athens NCAA Regional

Fourth time since the introduction of the six-regional format that Tennessee will be a six seed or higher
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --Â The University of Tennessee men's golf team was selected to the Athens NCAA Regional Wednesday, as announced on Golf Channel.
The Vols will be the No. 6 seed out of 13 teams at the regional.
Eighty-one teams and 45 individuals were selected to compete at one of six regional championship sites from May 13-15.
From regional competition, 30 teams and six individuals will advance to the national championships to be played May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
This marks the fourth time since the introduction of the six-regional format that Tennessee will be a six seed or higher.
The Vols return NCAA Regional experience in juniors Brayden Garrison and Rhys Nevin who tied for 37th in last season's regional. Garrison and Nevin have played in all 10 events in the Tennessee lineup this season and are two of four players to have double-digit rounds of par or better.
Redshirt sophomore Tyler Johnson will also make his second NCAA Regional appearance, finishing tied for 16th at the 2018 NCAA Raleigh Regional before transferring to Tennessee this season.
Redshirt sophomore Hunter Wolcott, who will be playing in his first NCAA Regional, is the third player to play in Vols' lineup in every event this season. Wolcott leads the team in stroke average (71.86), round of par or better (19) and rounds counted (28.5 of 30), entering NCAA Regional play.
