Vols Finish Third at Mason Rudolph Championship

Nolan Ray ties his collegiate best finish as the redshirt junior ties for third
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – No. 25 University of Tennessee men's golf team finishes the Mason Rudolph Championship in third.
The Vols shot even par in the final round of play on Sunday, finishing the week with a 54-hole score of 841 (-11) just one stroke back of second on the leaderboard. This is the fifth time in eight events this season Tennessee has placed in the top three and second time this week after winning The Hayt.
Redshirt junior Nolan Ray tied his collegiate best finish, tying for third at Vanderbilt Legends Club. Earlier this spring, Ray tied for third at the Georgia Southern Individual Collegiate. It marks the fourth time this spring the Brentwood, Tenn. native has finished inside of the top 25 and the third consecutive tournament.
Ray shot 1-over in the final round to finish 8-under for the tournament which tied or bested 11 of the top 100 college golfers in the country according to the latest Golfstat rankings.
Junior Hunter Wolcott carded the low round for the Vols on Sunday with a score of 70 (-1). Wolcott recorded four birdies in the final round and tied for the team lead this week with 12 birdies in the event.
His final round helped him move up five spots on the leaderboard, tying for 19th on the leaderboard. It helped him secure his fifth top-20 of the season and the third in four events this spring.
Fellow junior Brayden Garrison also finished with 12 birdies on the week including three in the final round. Garrison was even par Sunday and tied for 27th on the individual leaderboard.
Joining Ray and Wolcott in the top 25 on the leaderboard was sophomore Spencer Cross who was playing as an individual for the second straight tournament.
He finished 1-under for the tournament and tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard. This is fourth time in five events this season the Sevierville, Tenn. native has finished inside of the top 25.

The Vols complete the regular season at the Shoal Creek Collegiate in Birmingham, Ala. The tournament will start with two rounds of play on Monday (April 15) with the final round of the event coming on Tuesday (April 16).
