Tennessee set for final regular season event of the season in Alabama
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 22 University of Tennessee men's golf team travels to Shoal Creek, Ala. for the Shoal Creek Invitational for the final regular season tournament of the season.
The field features 15 teams with the Vols entering as one of five Southeastern Conference teams as No. 24 Alabama, No. 13 Auburn, No. 56 Kentucky and No. 12 LSU join them a week ahead of the conference championship. The field also includes No. 15 North Florida.
Tennessee, who has won a program-tying three tournaments so far this season, will be in search of its fourth team title of the season at Shoal Creek Golf Club. The Club has hosted the PGA Championship in 1984 and 1990, the U.S. Amateur in 1986, and the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2008.
The Vols have finished in the top three in the past two events including a win at The Hayt in Ponte Vedra, Fla. UT is coming off a third place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
The team, who had three players finish in the top-25 on the individual leaderboard, was led by redshirt junior Nolan Ray who tied for third, shooting 8-under-par to tie his career-best finish. It was the third consecutive tournament the Brentwood, Tenn, finished inside of the top 25.
Redshirt sophomore Hunter Wolcott joined him in the top 25, tying for 19th. It was his third top 25 of the spring and has a team-low 72.21 scoring average this season. In total, five Vol players enter the final regular season event of the season with a 73.00 stroke average or lower.
Tomorrow's first round is scheduled to start at 1:45 p.m. (ET) as Tennessee tees off No. 10. The Vols will be paired with Alabama and Samford on the opening day of play.

Brayden Garrison
In eight starts this season, Garrison has placed inside of the top 25 six times including three top-25 finishes this spring. He is coming off a tie for 27th at the Mason Rudolph Championship, bookending the event with two rounds of par or better.
Hunter Wolcott
The Burns, Tenn., has four top-20 finishes in his last five starts including his first collegiate win at The Hayt. The redshirt sophomore has a team-best 71.83 stroke average this spring. He also leads the team with 14 rounds of par or better this season and in round counted with 93.75 percent of his rounds counting.
Tyler Johnson
Johnson has three top-25 finishes in his last four events this season. He is coming into the final regular season tournament ranked third on the team with 10 rounds of par or better and is one of five Tennessee golfers to have a scoring average of 73.00 or lower.
Rhys Nevin
The junior will look for his first top-25 finish of the spring after having three in four tournament this fall. Nevin leads the team with four rounds in the 60s while ranking fourth in rounds of par or better with nine this season.
Nolan Ray
The redshirt junior comes into the weekend coming off his highest finish as a collegiate, tying for third at the Mason Rudolph Championship last week. Ray has four top-25 finishes in five events this spring including back-to-back coming into Shoal Creek Invitational.
