MEN’S TENNIS CENTRAL: TCU

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 22nd-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team begins a busy week on Rocky Top with a matchup against No. 12 TCU on Wednesday. First serve is slated for 11:30 a.m. from Barksdale Stadium.
Wednesday's match with the Horned Frogs kicks off a three-match homestand which includes hosting SEC rivals No. 24 South Carolina and No. 8 Florida. TCU is the first of five-straight ranked opponents coming up on the Vols schedule.
Admission is free to all regular-season matches and parking is available in Lot N-12 which is located at the corner of Lake Avenue and Volunteer Boulevard. LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee (10-3, 1-2 SEC) split last weekend, defeating No. 24 LSU, 4-3, before dropping a, 6-1, decision to No. 28 Texas A&M. Both matches were on the road.
TIMO ON A ROLL: Timo Stodder has been rolling in his past four matches with wins over two ranked opponents. The 59th-ranked singles player in the nation, Stodder is 13-5 this season and is on a four-match win streak.
RANKINGS: Along with being No. 59 in singles, Stodder and his doubles partner Preston Touliatos are ranked 36th nationally. The duo is 10-4 together. Adam Walton checks into the ITA singles rankings at No. 93. The Home Hill, Australia native had a nine-match winning streak from January 19 – March 7 this season.
SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS: TCU comes to Knoxville riding a four-match win streak and a 2-1 record on the road. The Horned Frogs most recent victory came against Illinois, a 4-0 win over the Illini who were ranked No. 11 at the time.
TCU brings four players ranked in the ITA top-125 in seventh ranked Alex Rybakov, No. 26 Alastair Gray, No. 86 Bertus Kruger and No. 115 Reese Stalder. Two of its doubles pairings are ranked with the combination of Kruger and Stalder checking in at No. 18 while Gray and Rybakov sit at No. 56.
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2001, which saw the Vols take a 4-0 victory in the semi-final round of the NCAA Tournament. All-time, Tennessee leads the series 5-0 with the first meeting coming in 1983.
