December 02, 2019 | Women's Tennis
Knoxville, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee women's tennis team collected three National Letters of Intent during the 2020 signing period.
Head coach Alison Ojeda and the women's tennis program will welcome Esther Adeshina, Carly Briggs and Hadley Doyle to the Big Orange Family. Doyle and Briggs will arrive in campus in January of 2020 and compete in the spring season. Adeshina will come to Rocky Top in the Fall.
Hadley Doyle

USTA: No. 4
"I only had to watch Hadley compete one time to see that she was a fighter," Ojeda said. "Hadley takes each and every point seriously and is incredibly focused and determined in her pursuit of excellence. She does all of this while being a joyful person to be around. I am thrilled that Hadley is graduating early and going to compete for us this spring. She will make an immediate impact on our program, both on and off the court."

Carly Briggs

USTA: No. 7
"I say this with a happy heart, Carly is someone who Pat Summitt would have loved to coach," Ojeda said. "She is not only a heck of a player, she is a fierce competitor on the court who is determined to do one thing, to win. It doesn't matter who is on the other side of the net, she believes in herself and is someone who thrives in pressure situations. Our team is thrilled that she decided to graduate early and compete for us this spring."

Esther Adeshina
Bracknell, Great Britain
"When my friend reached out to me about Esther, she told me that she was a heck of a player and will do some damage in college tennis," Ojeda said. "I believe she's right. During Esther's short 48-hour visit to UT, she fit right in with our team. She is very kind, easy to talk with and very respectful. We are excited to have Esther on campus next fall."
